ZHANG Yunyao 张云垚

ZHANG Yunyao (b. 1985) graduated from the Department of Oil Painting at Shanghai Normal University’s Academy of Fine Arts and currently lives and works in Paris. The artist, utilizing felt as a non-traditional artistic medium, actively explores diverse possibilities within traditional sketching to broaden its paradigm. In his artistic practice, the artist delves deeply into complex themes related to art history, memory, desire, power, and the human condition. Through a profound exploration of these subjects, the artist seeks to transcend cultural and contemporary societal taboos, inspiring viewers to engage in thoughtful contemplation and resonance with the themes addressed in their artwork.
